Beaver County Times - 1/31/2019

Jan. 30--After getting reappointed to the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb has been chosen as its vice chairman, and he also will chair an Energy subcommittee.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to help lead Democrats on the committee as we work to keep the promises we've made to all the men and women who serve our country," said Lamb, D-17, Mount Lebanon, who is a Marine Corps veteran.

Lamb was additionally tapped to serve on the Veterans' Affairs subcommittees on health and technology modernization.

Democrats also chose Lamb as chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee's subcommittee on energy, which looks at issues involving the U.S. Department of Energy; research, development and demonstration projects; commercial applications and energy standards.

"In my district, energy means family-supporting jobs and cutting-edge science," Lamb said in a statement. "The work of the energy subcommittee of the Science, Space and Technology Committee is critical to our region."

And Lamb will serve on the environment subcommittee, which is responsible for Environmental Protection Agency research and development, environmental standards, climate change research and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
